how come my sedan sits higher in the front then the rear ?
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 4:48 PM
Hey there , i have a 98 sunfire sedan; i am lowered on sprint springs; my rear sits lower then my front; i like how the rear sits, i find the front wheel gap much larger then the rear, and for sprints i find my front sits higher then i would think it should..
Any ideas why my front does not sit that low ?
Maby the back is sagged alot?

Do the sedans sit higher from the factory then the 2 door model j-bodys???
I know my sedan factory has huge wheel gaps and a 4x4 stance, where as i fould the coupes did not have as huge of a gap.... so i was thinking if you take a lowering spring and put the same set on a coupe and sedan the coupe would sit lower; is this true????
Any help would be great

Thanks

all the springs were designed for the 95-02 Z24, with a much heavier engine than the LN2 and the Eco. there's going to be a bit of a height difference either way. mine does the same with my sedan.

I have a 2 door sunfire and I haven't put aftermarket suspension on. I figured it to be because my subs.

Didn't think of that.. makes the most sense. I was planning on getting OEM mounts to lower the front more back a while ago, but figured I might just hold off

my sedan did that with goldlines/konis... although after i removed the 2 12's outta the trunk of the car, it leveled out.

I'm eventually going to do that myself, just, so save the headache of the possible struts sticking up too far, have them machined off before putting them on.

he is correct. the ld9 motor is much heavier then the ecotec. with my 03 cav, i had more wheel gap up front. compared to z24 from 95-02 with the ld9.

I guess i should have mentioned that the springs were used, and the struts are new all around with new rear mounts and older kyb mounts up front; do you think maby the springs are not seated propely; this was all installed last spring.......
I am thinking about getting my front lowered more to match the rear; i would not mind the racked look, but right now i have a reverse rack, lol
And the wing is taken off the car for a bit now; just got to get the holes filled.....

Thanks for your help guys/gals......

My 96 with the LN2 did the same thing with my old spring springs, i went round with the manufacturer about it and they stopped replying to me, I wasnt the only one having these issues however. This seemed to be a common prob with them back in the ealier years. I switched out to a set of H&Rs and no more sag.
