ok ive been reading up and still cant decide, i use satisfied pro ceramic brake pads on stock replacement rotors now wich stop way better than stock, but now looking to upgrade rotors and throw a new set of those pads on with them, I can not decide wether to go with powerslot or ebc, and wheres the best place with the best prices to get these that you all have found? I like the look of powerslot and there just slotted wich is what im looking for, but the ebc rotors have that coating on the surface where the pad doesnt touch wich will prevent rusting, so its a toss up now, help me out. baer is not an option, they rust like stock and crack so they are out of the picture now.
pics of yours and opinions are welcome.
I went with the Powerslot/Hawk combo. Loving it. Definite improvement over stock brakes. No major rust issues either. Installed since fall of 2008.
I'd get you pics but they are hiding behind teh stock 14" steel wheel
hawk+powerslot is the way to go if ur not doin a big brake kit
I have Powerslot w/ Duralast Gold pads and couldn't be happier. Stops on a dime
i have powerslot/hawk on my 04 and trying out EBC rotors and redstuff pads on the skwirl.
haven't tried the EBC stuff just yet, but the powerslot/ hawk combo seems ok
still experience fade when driving like a total retard tho.
I have EBC slotted rotors and EBC yellow pads. Much better than stock. Grabs like crazy. Only have about 1000 kilometers on them and 5 passes at the track. No fade issues, but I haven't driven like a total retard yet.
I've tried other brands of slotted and other pads from ceramic to a titanium compound. These are way better. Never tried the powerslot/hawk combo.
I dont drive that bad on the streets, not all crazy like and everything lol, and I only go to the drag track in tucson (SIR) 2 times a year and make 3-4 runs each time so I dont abuse my car all that bad, its slow anyways.
thanks so far guys, keep opinions coming. and like to see pics too if you got em, esp of the ebc's.
and yea i just sold my 18's so no big brake kit for me as all i have now is two sets of ls sport wheels and a set of 15" steelies lol
EBC rotors for the rear with EBC redstuff pads.
No time on the pavement with them yet but what sold me over the PowerSlots was that the EBC rotors are cnc machined which the PowerSlots are not.
I was very impressed with my research of the different rotors for the car and EBC was finally decided on.
Some pics and again, they've not seen the pavement yet but will do some heavy duty work once they get broke in.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
I wish I had rear disks on mine... Looks hot blu'
I'm running the EBC rotors with hawk pads. They worked well for me last summer and they are much better than stock.
Why not slotted brembo's? I have them with stainless steel brake lines and hawk pads. Works great IMO.
ok sooo where did you guys get your setups and for around how much? i dont want to spend over $200 with my pads and my pads are $50
again thanks for replies so far.
I got my stuff from TTR, not sure how much it costs.
I'm running slotted Brembos and Wagner Thermo Quiet Pads. I would be on Hawk pads had Nopi not sent me the wrong pads...
Either way, you'll end up with some pretty decent stopping power, I had to push mine pretty damn hard to overheat the brakes.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
www.buybrakes.com, and i get coupons for 20% off all the time from them. i have the cryotreated powerslot rotors on my car now and big improvement over the regular ones. with the hawk pads. dont do cross drilled all they are good for is cracking.
well looks like im going with the powerslot rotors, they are the right price, they look great, and all reviews say they perform great.
thanks all for helping me make my decision.
what about doing the Camaro/ W body swap for bigger brakes?
and just spend a lil extra
you'd have 12 inch rotor and two pistons calipers sliding calipers instead of single floaters
im already spending a lot extra becuase im buying wheels and tires for my 98, new tires for my ls wheels on my 05, plus this brake rotors, so any more then what i already have planned is not an option, thats already alot of money right there, and i want a bolt on upgrade, i can do the rotors and pads in less than an hour so im good with any other random ideas. thanks for trying to add something different though. unless someone here wants to buy my chrome 18's i dont want anymore that are sitting around here...
Gotcha...yeah I understand. With the camaro/w-body upgrade you have to change the rezeppa (not sure on spelling) joint of your axle for it to adapt the the Alero front knuckle and wheel bearing... Definately not a hour job without good tools and a hoist but even with that it would take longer....
I have heard good things about powerslots...When I do my big brake upgrade with the Camaro/Wbody im going to use Powerslots and i think maybe hawk or ebc green stuff pads
yea they sound like they perform great and they do look great so they will be perfect for my 05 with my favorite performance pad by satisfied.
Had EBC slot/dimpled rotors with GreenStuff pads, worked great.
Replaced that with Hawk HPS + Powerslot, also worked great.
Powerslots seemed to last a bit better, but I autocrossed more often on the EBCs. I'd call 'em pretty much evenly matched, so whichever you get for cheaper.
Hawk+Powerslot seemed to be quieter at the limit however (EBCs would SCREAM when they got hot -- towards the end of an autocross run, but never, ever faded.)
