gah.. wtf am I supposed to do now?

So I was putting my stock suspension back in the car today and on the driver rear. I was having problems getting 1 of the bolts to thread in. tried starting it by hand and with a socket/extension no luck. Then figured I'd put it on a little 1/4 air ratchet and spin it a bit. It went in about 3 threads and stopped.. i figured I stripped it.. great. So i pull it out and fight with it for a hour trying to get it to go in right, try threading it from the top down everything aside from trying to re-tap it. At this point i'm pretty frustrated and those who know the @!#$ that has been going on the past week and a half understand my growing frustration with this car, hence why the its all going back to stock, but anyway I just grab the impact and spin it up.. thinking maybe i could get it to go in right... or completely destroy it. well i destroyed it.

So now I wonder how can I even fix this? I can't put a nut over the bolt for my rear strut bar due to this and I'd like to fix it. GM had to use those damn threaded washers or w/e u want to call them which I'm 100% that they are laser welded in.. I was thinking should I just take a air hammer and try and break it out of the welds and just get a new bolt and nut with washer? Think I should try to run a tap(or die w/e it is) up through there? Hell at this point I wish i could just work a tap around it enough to bolt my strut bar in to get rid of the stock loose feel without it. but there is no room in there to do that...

so i need some ideas fellas, I'm going to ask our suspension guy this week when he's aligning it what he thinks but has anyone delt with this kind of thing? I really wish GM would of just used 3 studs and nuts...

so you think the welded nut is stripped?

what about a helicoil? just drill it out and helicoil it.

Run a drill thru there and put a longer bolt with a nut on top. this will allow you to put your strut bar on and put the nut on top
