I need to replace my front rubber brake lines on my 01 cavalier, My question is there a certain way of bleeding the system?. I haven't bled brakes with ABS system. Anyone have and Idea's?.
Thank you in advanced.
its just the same a bleeding any other system, pump the brake till its hard and then release the bleeder valve till theres no more air or nasty @!#$ in the line and the brake pedal is bak to where it was before.

direct quote from my haynes manual "start the engine and let it run for 10 seconds. watch the abs light - it should turn off after 3 seconds or so.
Warning:
if the light doesn't go off, a GM tech 1 scan tool must be connected to diagnose the problem. have the vehicle towed to a dealer service department or other repair shop equipped with the necessary tool. if the light turned off like it is supposed to, turn the ignition off and repeat the procedure. if the light goes off again after 3 seconds the brakes can now be bled. " it then goes on to tell you to bleed the abs module starting with the rear most bleeder valve, then the front, then bleed the rear and front brakes regularly.
i had to do this to my car about a year ago, i let the master go dry after sittign for a month or so with no rear brakes on at all, and i had to do all that. everything worked out well. bleeding the module is the same as bleeding the rest of the brakes, pump the pedal, hold pressure, open valve yada yada yada. fairly simple.
Sounds pretty straight forward. I will give it a shot. Thanks for the info guys.
From my experience in this, don't let the brake reservoir go dry. Period.
Doing so will cause issues like Jon D mentioned or even worse. For me it was worse and I had to delete the abs setup because I could not get it to bleed through without some kind of activation of the abs solenoids to cycle the fluid through.
Good luck with it.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
I used the old tried and true method. Worked fine. Pump up brakes, crack the valve, fluid/air comes out, tighten, repeat.
