so its time to replace the brakes cuz mine are cracked and i wanted something that is a little bigger and better performing and fills the 16 ls sport wheels i'm putting on. looking for disc front and rear...anyone know of any options? mark this includes you if you think you can put together a kit i think it would be a great seller....unless yours already fits those wheels?????
neon kit for the rear and N W F swap for the front will prolly be your best bet, unless you looking at spending bux.

The NFW will not fit inside LSS rims, nor will it have the correct bolt pattern. The Neon swap will work, though.

Dave, I've been running Magnum cross drilled rotors as of lately, stock diameter so they won't fill the wheel more like you want, but the quality is awesome especially for the price! These + ceramic pads are a win! I've noticed a definite increase in stopping ability, and the life of the rotors seems much better than others I have tried. I've also noticed better pad wear...with oem/wearever/wagner and most other auto store house brands, I've always had the problem with one pad being almost down to metal, and one pad having over 50% meat on it (my guess is uneven heating/cooling of the system as one pad would always be somewhat fused to the rotor and digging into it)...problem solved with the current set up. I also don't see heat warp as early on as in other brands.
And if you are looking to go disc in the rear, you can usually piece together a neon swap for around $200ish.
yea, i've had upgraded stock size brakes, and the braking was good(brembos and ebc yellows) but i want more, lol, and i like the look of the brake filling the wheel more, lol. plus i'm building this car to be an amature road race car, so i need the stopping power. and yes i know ppl that a bigger rim with less sidewall on the tire would be better but i like the look of the ls sport rims. until i can afford forged wheels, i'll be on these.

Im pretty sure all aftermarket big brake kits require atleast a 17" wheel to clear the brakes.
OEM claims his fit under a 16", I have them with 18"s and have plenty of room to get my hand in there for cleaning. But it says you might need spacers.

thats the issue...and i don't like spacers...

Yes our kit fits under a 16" wheel but not the 99 Sunfire wheel for sure. You will need longer studs and spacers. Alot of people dont like that but really its hard to get around that without a custom one off set.
The calipers are huge, thats the main problem.
I would love to build a 6 piston kit, but it would run $1300 for the fronts.

well mark, once i have it in the budget to get some forged 17's or 18's we'll talk.
Nexo's can handle the Wilwoods with no problems.
They're 16 inch rims which I use on my Cavy as a backup rim and for drag racing.
I generally run Rota Boost rims for cruising with no issues either.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
well, for now i like the look of the ls sport rims and i want to get them powder coated satin black and get my car painted white (already is white, just freshening it up) until i can get some forged wheels....i haven't found any cast aftermarket wheels i like. but those don't seem too bad blu. i love how the brakes fit in there
what do you guys think about using srt-4 brakes? same bolt patter but 11 in. rotors up front and 10.62 in the back. not exactly the calipers i would want to go with(wanted fixed...but it looks like with these wheels i can't have em) but should be some good stopping power.
You have to keep in mind different rotors have different offsets, calipers have different brackets and different offsets as well, etc... not just anything bolts on because its 5x100.
Either upgrade to good rotors and pads, or go with a kit already on the market, unless you find a way to adapt those SRT-4 parts to your car your options remain what is already out there (OEM, Wilwood, SSBC, Baer, rear neon disc swap...).
replace the stockers for now and upgrade your brakes when you have the money to do both brakes and wheels.
my baer's were WELL worth the upgrade to a larger wheel.
i know i will need to adapt it to fit, lol, i'm not an idiot that thinks it will simply bolt up. it will take lots of measurements and a bracket or 2, but i want to do something different that gives good braking that works with stock ls sport rims. if i end up liking how it works, i may never change my setup...who knows what the future will bring.
