Has anyone used the RK Sport coilovers that are like the ground controls? I have been thinking about looking into coilovers and figured if I have d-specs that I could use them and just get the sleeve. Do I have to cut my d-specs to use these or do I just set the insert on? Are the ground controls setup the same ways as these are?

Yes, you will have to cut the spring perch off the front struts and hammer off the rear perches.
The directions are on RK's website

I don't want too do that. NVM then. I guess i'll pass on them.

you have to do that for all coilovers
I'll just buy basics or gravana's or something like that.

eh its a hit or miss with those. if your spending that much money on a fully assembled one, go with another set of dspecs or konis and get ground control.
basics are nice but they dont have adjustable damping
gravanas are nice too but i hear alot of problems with them
This is probably a dumb question but w/e im going to ask it anyways. Do you have to upgrade your struts with the use of these coilovers or can you use your stock struts? I would assume u cant but im not sure.
you should not use stock struts with any type of lowering setup for our cars. the struts themselves just can not simply handle it.
ok thats what i figured thanks
I have coilovers but I do not know how to put them on..can someone help me I don't know how to cut whatever it is you have to!!

I an no expert. But from experience I make a suggestion. Should you go the coil over route, regardless of spring chosen, use only High Performance Quality dampers. Bilsteins, Koni, Tokico..... Should you use any other type of shock you will have problems. It will be a matter of when. The linear spring rates on most coil overs system require stiffer dampening rates that GR2 or the like can handle. That's just the way it is. Some times you can get a good match, but a serious pot hole or a curb taken to hard will blow something.
Please, buy a premium quality shock/strut and choose a spring set that will accomodate.

Ok, here is probably the most stupid question. will these coilovers work with the IRS swap? I left my micrometer at work so I can t measure the diameter, but if the problem with using the j spring with the irs is the difference in the perches, would this work because I have to remove the perches anyway?
