Neon swap with spacers

How far does the Neon swap bracket move the bearing out? I need to know to order spacers before the GP is up.

Thanks guys.

Maybe 1/8" total. Its whatever the difference in thickness between the drum backing plate and the Neon caliper bracket is. You aren't going notice it.

yes, realistically, its not much.

Ok good for some reason I was under the impression that it was more than that.

Call up Mark from OEM. I gave him specs for a set of custom spacers (that even came powdercoated!) that go under the rotor hat, on top of the wheel hub. Tell him that Nate from Colorado told you to ask for them...

I noticed that the rotors were rubbing a bit too much for my liking, and wasn't happy with just spacing out the rotor from the hub by using "machined" washers. The "machined" washers weren't even close to being identical in width, causing the rotor to sit unevenly on the hub.

I can take a pic of the spacers that he made if you need it.

Ill remember this for when I get my parts together. How much did they run?

Can't remember right off the top of my head. I remember it being pretty reasonable though. You will also want to add longer studs to your shopping list. Once you add the spacer, there is little space left to hold your lugnuts...

This is why you caliper each and every washes you can come up with to make sure that all of the washers are within speck of each other.
I had no issue with using washers for my setup and it was quite easy actually.
Both rear calipers are perfectly spaced with washers between the rotor and hub and both the right and left side have two different sized but each size is dedicated for placing the rotor perfectly centered of the caliper and pads.
It's not hard to do and keep in mind that having two spacers as you say of the same size won't work for the Neon rear setup.
Minor differences in machining will have you use two different spec thicknesses for each side as I found out doing my setup.
Good luck.

Generally that is the case with all the brackets I've machined as my goal was to get the hub faces flat to allow for good alignment of the wheels, however machining down flat on cast surfaces ends up with variations in thickness depending on quality and uniformity of the part. I think both of you have brackets I machined.

Yup and that's why I had to use two different size washers so that the rotors were correctly centered with the pads in the calipers.
Even with the Wilwood big brake kit they give you shims to make sure that the rotors are centered with the calipers for your best braking.
Using a one size fits all spacer won't do this although it will work but in the end your pads will suffer uneven wear.

I have one spacer that is 1/4" thick on my neon rears. I placed the spacer on the back of my dush shield so you can't see it

That's why i got a set of the mag wheel washes from advance. They seem perfect no rubbing issues nothing.
