Ok, so I have installed new Front Brakes on my Base 2003 Cav sedan, EBC 3GD Rotors, EBC Yellowstuff Pads, and Napa Eclipse rebuilt calipers & hoses. A budget concious install, I did it myself! lol Done many before,(other vehicles, not this one) but never had a problem. The check brakes light comes on now and again? For the most part it stays off, the 2 times I noticed it on was after I had driven up our 1mi dirt road, kinda rough, but not to bad. These are non ABS as far as I know though the car does have the booster or whatever it is with 4 lines coming out of it. I know the base did not come with ABS, but not sure if it was an option. This car is BASE! nothing except the am/fm cd player was added. No cruise, locks, etc. all manual control. Bled the fronts, and have a good, stif pedal. Brakes excellent, any ideas why the check brakes light might come on? Possibly means I need rears also? I did use the E-Brake some while waiting for my parts to arrive, the front right was metal to metal, but no light came on then, and I obviously had a problem? Any help greatly appreciated, looked through the forums & used the search, but couldn't find anything on this particular problem. Thanks all
Fluid low??

Fluid is full, but I did use some real old Dot 3 fluid along with some old, and new dot 4 fluid as I plan on checking the rear brakes and bleeding the entire system at that point using the 2 qt's of dot 4 I bought last week. Might have been some water in the old fluid as I couldn't resisist; (not supposed to brake hard if avoidable the first 300-1000mi) I did a few back to back semi hard stops from 60 mph, and the brakes faded big time, spongy pedle, and had to use some foot power to stop the third time. Great stopping power on that first stop, but each succesive stop was worse and terrible on the 2nd & 3rd stops respectively. These brakes really bite hard, wasn't expecting the fade. Hope it's just bad fluid or break-in period not being met yet or a combination of the two. Any comments appreciated as allways. TOM
