As everyone knows, when you lower an automatic transmission cavalier, the wheels move to the left on the vehicle. So the driver's wheel sticks out of the fender and the passengers is tucked in more.
My thought was. Since when people put in the aluminum control arms, they shorten the control arm to correct camber. Could we not shorten the driver's control arm and leave the passengers the length that it was? Assuming we have camber plates?
i have never known that to happen, either transmission both cars use the same suspensions.
Yeaaaaaaaaah..... everyone doesn't know that... because it shouldn't be happening...
DO NOT try to run different length control arms...
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
I'm sure I've read several threads of people complaining and explaining this. It's a small difference, maybe 1/4-1/3" but if you look close you can notice it.
that is just not correct, the cv shafts would extend and compress waaaay before something like that would happen. Plus the control arm and the strut assembly would all have to move for the wheel to change position.
The only thing that could move everything over is if the subframe wasn't centered. Get out a tape measure and get under the car and start taking measurements to find out if things are centered.
I pretty sure I've only seen 2 threads with people saying their front wheels are off by about 2 mm, not 1/4 of an inch.

in my tenure here on jbo i have never heard of anyone having issues with this on an auto car. mine didnt i know that....
and yes, you can use the alum. control arms at stock length if you have the plates and or adjust-ability to take the camber difference back out.

I've never had issues with the wheels moving left... even when I go over bumps, which would be (temporarily) the same effect as lowering...
Yeah I think I was on crack.
I checked it out, my wheels are fine. Plus I think they'd see that in the two alignments I get every year.
