Hello All... got a question about GR 2 shocks im replacing my stock ones and i got my GR2's in today but all i got in the box with the shock was a bolt thingy for the shock mount i believe? i notice on my stock shocks theres a metal piece thats attached to the rubber boot thing i believe its called that goes at top of the shock near mount but its all rusty i dont wanna use it if its no good?, also my stock shocks has another thing at the bottom of the rod and this KYB GR2 doesnt do i need to buy extra parts for GR2's all i got again in the KYB GR2 box was a Bolt for top of the Mount i believe, did i not get everything or something. ?
if your calling anything a THING , you need to get your self a manual for your car. lol . anytime you buy a set of shocks all you ever get is a nut and sometimes a washer.
You have to swap the spring and the mount to you're G2s.

true. lol so what else do i need if you could be kind and tell me, im having someone do the work just took the shocks off so guy can do the work quick i guess once i get everything, so what else do i need with my GR2 shocks besides my spring. ? Thanks..

I see my stock shocks have a few parts extra these new GR2's wont if i just add my Spring's, the shock rod has a boot and stuff i have those from my old shocks but they look rough no holes but top part thats metal is oxidized and stuff and theres some kinda thing at bottom of the rod on the shock do i not need these thin things, just the bolt in my mount and thats all? the GR2 is less parts then my Stock 2003 LS Z shocks. ?
So i dont need nothing but my spring and the bolt it comes with and my shock mounts, can someone back this up cause i see a few extra things on my stock shocks. thanks..

just give him your shocks and the gr2s. unless you replacing any hardware or buying new shock mounts he has everything he needs to swap over to the gr2s
So i dont need anything besides my Spring, im asking this cause my stock GM 2003 Cavalier Z24 200+K Blown to hell stock shock has some stuff that looks like i can use, the thing in the spring when cars lowered is called a Boot right.. dont i need that from the stock one or a brand new one thats not used and stuff. ?? so when my cars lowered am i going too see the silver rod thru the springs nothing goes on that rod on the shock.... ?

Buy new strut bellows (the boot), new upper mounts, and you'll have everything you need.

If you are having someone else do this, they should hopefully be competent enough to know what you need and how to swap it over.
If not, look for someone else to do the work.
