Just got this bar in with the 2 firewall mounting points along with the CC bracket on the passenger side. This is going into a 99 LD9. The problem I'm having with this thing is that the driver side plate won't fit over the strut studs. It seems to be hitting on the firewall right where the first bend is on the bar. I'm assuming this bar is off of a 2200. Surely they are all the same design?
Anyone else ever have this issue or could help me with this or do I have a messed up bar?
Did you try turning the bar 180º?
Pics of fitment will help us help.
it will fit any j 95-05.
is it not clearing the strut tower bolt's? if it's just barely missing you can open up the hole's a little bit by using a high speed drill. i had to do that with mine.
I have never had to modify a bar to fit, but I have had to twist is some when installing.

Will get a picture up later today.

That takes a little of the stiffness out. As an alternative you could unbolt the struts, jack the car up so that the strut bolts are not poking through the metal, put the bar down, line up the holes and then push the strut back up through both. That's what I had to do.
Yeah, I thought of that. Might have to do that. Just thought it was a quick drop in bar.
However, I would like to get one without the CC bracket now.
Anybody willing to trade a GM bar with 2 mounting points with the CC bracekt for a bar with 1 or 2 without CC bracket?

What??? I was not talking about twisting the metal, but twisting it as in having the back go in first them the front hold fall down. This would not hurt the performance of the bar. I'm actually running a GM bar with the 2 mounting points and CC bracket (I cut the bracket off for CC).

Sorry. I meant to quote bluucavy
I have a two-point bar sitting here somewhere... but I don't need a bar in trade.
Maybe I'll put it in the classifieds. These things are difficult to come by now.
im with sfm.. sometimes they dont go on "easy" but if you play with it a lil, it will fall in. good luck
Mine "fell in" within 5 minutes in the parking lot of the junk yard.

Hey Lenko, how much do you want for the 2 point bar? Is it without the CC bracket? I payed 50 shipped for this one. Would you do 50 for yours?
The bar I have is two mounting points on the firewall, no CC bracket.
And since I'm in Canada, it would probably be more than $50 to ship it to you.
Sorry for taking this post off topic
I have a 1 point without cc. I would like to trade. I am just too lazy to relocate the cruise control... I can get pictures if you like. Just PM me to work out something if ya still want a trade.
I've had mine off a million times I know what your talking about. It's close but just off, 30 seconds of playing with it and you won't have a problem no need to jack the car up or do any of that. You can figure it out just go mess with it.
Was the car it off of WRECKED? May be bent.
