I went to buy some wheel cylinders for my brakes on my 99 Z the other day and autozone had 2 kinds, one for soft suspension ride and another for sport or stiff ride. My question is which cars came with which setup and how much of a handling difference is there in between the 2?
Your Z24 would NOT have the soft ride. It would have the "sport" ride. You also have the larger diameter brake drums.
I believe the soft ride was typical of the sedans. Our old 99 base sedan had the soft ride. It also had the no options, 14" steel wheels, and black, not body colored bumpers.
not in 99 you wont i don't know why they list 2 differnet brakes for 99 but my zed has the FE2 suspension and it has the small brakes the bigger brake is more key in 03+ every J body that i have worked on have used the small brakes except 1 and it was an 03 Z24 it used the larger ones
you may have to get both sets and take back the ones you don't use
if i go to a parts source or napa they ask that but if i go to a smaller company they don't ask brake size i think the corporite companies link there data base to same car insted of year ranges. i know 1 company for 00 asks 2.2/ 2.2DOHC/ 2.4DOHC well since the 2.2 DOHC wasn't an option in 00 tells me somethings messed in there data base
