Hey guys,
I've been in touch with someone from K-Sport (Not to be confused with RKSport), and I asked if they were considering making coilovers for the third gen cars. His response was:
"We honestly tried to make them a few times, but couldn’t get enough buyers to commit to them, so we decided not to at this time, sorry about that."
So... I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in K-Sport Coilovers for the Third Gen cars... They don't currently make these, and they said they would potentially start if they had at least 10 orders confirmed for an initial group buy. I have these coilovers on my DSM, and absolutely love them. Several friends also have them and have nothing bad to say about them.
I'd imagine the price would be under $850 for the set as that's about the full retail price for a production set... You can see more information about their stuff here:
http://ksportusa.com/asp/coilovers.asp. The Kontrol version is their "budget" coilover but it's a definite competitor to the Tein Basics, if not even better.
Cliffnotes:
- K-Sport would potentially be interested in making these if we get enough interest
- They're amazing coilovers and a great competitor to the other *few* coilovers available for the 3rd gen crowd
- At least 10 people need to confirm before they would even think about it.
Let me know, if I get enough interest here I'll direct them to this thread.
Thanks!
You need premium before you can sell these here. But hopefully there is enough interest and it turns out to be a well rounded, decently priced product. We need more people willing to make stuff, and more owners willing to spend cash.
I'm not trying to sell them, just pitching the idea to the community so I can get back to them with a proposition.

well, if it was a better coilover i would be in depending on price, but im getting std r5s which are a bit beter than tien basics, so....
you put a period after the link in the first post.
If I had the cash when purchase time came I would be interested in trying them out on my vert. N not to be a downer but Mike is right, even if you arent directly selling these, you need to be premium to run a group purchase. on the bright side its only 20 bucks for a year and you get an edit button and access to AG and AAG forums which can be quite entertaining.
what do these have over the 50 million other coilover options we have?
Tein basic and SSP
RK Sport (aka ground control/eibach)
KW Variant
STD
Skunk 2
Ebay X50
im sure im forgetting some and the list goes on...
the problem isnt getting the interest.. its there. the problem is getting ten to COMMIT. and at this time, unfortunately... the major ones that might have just jumped in on the STD coilover group buy.
If it takes forever.... I will die trying. Underdog Racing
