Cheaper options for coilovers

Hey, I really would like to upgrade the suspension on my 2000 Z24 but dont have tons of money to speed(+$1000) if there is no better/cheaper options, then I guess I will just have to wait. I dont want it dropped to the ground or anything but from the factory, the car looks too high and the handling could be improved. I am just looking for a 1-1.5" drop, We do get allot of snow here aswell, so that is why I would perfer coilovers cause if needed, I could always raise it up in the winter months, but they are soo expensive. I was leaning towards maybe a prokit if I can't find a more affordable option for coilovers. I have read the sticky and a pile of other threads, also kinda sucks since most of the links in the sticky no longer exist. Seems like carcustoms has the best prices unless someone knows other vendors?
I figured I would check out ebay (not for noname $80 coilovers...) but to see if they had any cheaper brand name stuff on there. I found one listing that had dropzone coil over and struts for around $300. It is probably garbage but I figured I would ask on here to see what the experts think? If not, is there any other options that could give me a 1-1.5" drop/decent struts for less then $500??
Thanks for any help

Here is the ebay listing: Your text to link here...

just get some sportlines and dpecs. forget coilovers. or if your heart is set on going that route. try to find a used set of ground controls and a set of koni reds. or yellows

Just a few threads down there was a link for the Tokico HP kit. Price is right and I'd trust it waaaay more than dropzone.

ohvrolla , that kit is what i have and im returing the springs because they dont sit level. But the price is good for the struts, however i would recomend diff springs. those come with m2 springs wich i posted about.

Saving up for the Tein basic coilover set up is the route Im taking, save up and purchase something good. Dont cheap out on dropzone, meagan or the no name brands! As stated above tokico blues and the eibach pro kit springs would suit your needs but keep in mind you might get the itch to go lower after you see that theres still wheel gap to fill in.

Good looking out Todd. I remember Tokico having spring/strut combos with the HPs and Dspecs and mistook those for what I linked. 25" monitor and I have to scroll down to see the kit uses M2 springs.

IF you look on the Tein site you can find a special on tein basics for $700. It takes a bit to navigate around their site but this should help you. Tein Basics I'm not sure of all the details or if they still honor this price but it is on their site so ?

D-specs and sportlines are what I have waiting to go in my car. Looked around and priced it out, got both for under $700.

Good luck and happy shopping

Thanks everyone for all your input, too bad those M2 springs weren't better, the price is right for that Tokico HP lowering kit. If anyone has had better luck with those M2 springs, let me know. On that site, they are cheaper than Megan Springs so they must not be very good... probably will just have to save for a pro kit or sport kit and find a decent price on good struts, or look into Tein Basics, little higher than I wanted to spend but $700 is pretty decent for brand name coilovers.

Yeah, I priced out doing drop springs with good dampers and came to the conclusion to do it right would cost like a grand and I said, F it, I'll just spend a couple hundred more and buy the tein ssp's and never have to worry about getting new upper mounts ever. If I was to go this route now I would get the STD R5's instead from the group buy.

The tein ssp's are awesome! I love them and I like the car so much more than I did with the agx's and prokit.

I know HP blues have good reviews but how about Tokico lowering springs?? Looking at this kit here
I worked it out and shipped (To Canada) it would be about $630
Just struts from same site would be $444 Shipped
So springs would cost me $186 extra, are they worth it?
Again, looking for something on a tight budget, I dont race or autocross, but also dont want garbage. just something better than stock and a small drop.
I was also thinking of looking for a used pro kit or other brand name springs, maybe I can find one for a little cheaper, but would aslo have to factor in shipping cost, I sure I could find a pro kit for 100-200 shipped. Which would be better, used pro kit or new Tokico springs?
