On ebay everyone is showing the 95-2005 model years are all the same with the 3rd gen rack and pinions. Is this true?, Id hate to buy and receive the wrong one.

Wow, and on ebay they dont specficy which ones. They say all engines and years are all the same.
So which is a better ratio? the 3 turn or the 2.5 turn for the Z? and does it matter?, which one did u get Brian?

Jason no im going with just a stock replacement power rack. Not worth it to me to try to find a manual rack that will work. I also am not trying to pay an arm and a leg for a manual one as I am not putting anymore money into this car than I have to.

Just got off the phone with them.
95-2005- cavalier
They dont make manual racks for the cavalier.
95332m- standard steering- slower ratio- $304.95
95332ms- Performance steering- None in stock and he didnt get me a price.
So, looks like ill be going with a stock replacement one I guess.

Ok, got my new rack. So I decided to keep this thread open to so I can get info on these lines. I want to convert to SS lines so I can rule out the possibility of a blowout of the rack again.
Anybody know the sizes of these two threads that goes to the PS pump?
Here is the thread about me asking the same questions, but Josh's comments are confusing me because I am not sure of the sizes he is talking about.

Curious what kind of fitting you used for the pressure hose AT the pump? The return hose is easy to just slap an SS hose on and a clamp. Do you have any pics?
Oh, and what sizes are you lines?

hard to get an angle on the rack side but its a 90* fitting.
used aeroquip fittings, worked really well. On the return side i cut off the rubber hose and used the existing metal line and replaced the rubber with -6 braided hose with clamps and hose finishers.
Thanks spencer, that fitting coming out of the pump, is that one of the M16 or M18 fittings you mentioned above?

The fitting at the pump, that an M16 or M18?
