Guys I have an 04 Cavy and picked up the Jeffe rear disc adapters.
I have been reading up on all the posts about people having issues with the E-brake hooking up right or needing to mod things to get it to work correctly.
If I was to get a complete new caliper with the E-brake bracket, Can i bolt it onto the car as-is and will it work on my 2004? It seems there is a difference between the years of J-bodies with the cable.
I also wanted to find out if anyone has a working solution for a steel braided brake hose for using the Saturn cables being I hear the normal rubber hoses cause petal travel?
Now should I buy the complete J-body front/rear steel braided brake hose kit to replace all the existing brake hoses that are on the car now? Because doesn't the J-body have a rubber hose inside the axle area that would still need to be swapped for for a steel braided one even with the drums removed?
I then guess I would have to track down some type of solution to connect the saturn caliper to the steel line? Ideally I want to install a stainless line so I don't have to deal with petal travel and also adding another rubber hose to the car.

Also if I was to find a shop that could sell me just the rear Saturn steel braided brake hoses.. is it confirmed this will work just fine for this swap?

Jbody front and Saturn are too short.
I have the parts that are needed to swap to a complete stainless braided line listed in my thread. It removes the rubber and the metal piece that attaches to the drums.

But won't there be the original J-body brake hose that is still on the car even after the drums are removed? Or is this removed with the drum assembly? I just thought I read that when you swap the rear Saturn's on, you will be added the extra brake hose on for the caliper to line, then isn't there another hose that's deeper under the car? Or is this a mistake? I haven't got up under the rear of the car in awhile to inspect.

Also is it possible to buy the new Saturn calipers complete including the e-brake bracket? It seems most don't come with it however a few say they come with a bracket.. but that could mean the caliper bracket and not the e-Brake bracket.
I just don't think its worth running to the junkyard just to pickup those Saturn e-brake brackets. Rather just pay to get them with the new calipers anyway.

It depends where you get your calipers and what calipers you get. The problem with the 03+ cars is the ebrake cable has too much slack on the end. This was fixed a few ways I beleive, mainly by relocating the ebrake bracket off of the caliper to correctly position it to pull the lever on the caliper. And like he said up there^^^ its difficult to get all stainless lines to match up, but he has found one that replaces both the factory jbody line, and the saturn rubber with ss braided. If you dig into the forum there are several how to threads that go over this.
That line goes from the hardline on the body where the j rubber line attaches all the way to the Caliper. Removes the stock rubber and short piece of metal line.
