Ok, so as the title states, I am installing some new goodies. I am still new at this, but I was changing out struts, and strut mounts and had a few questions.

So here is the older set up with the old strut mount, and it has the metal plate (not sure actual name) on the bottom half of the mount..


As for the new mount, it has two "plastic" peices... this is the pic of the bottom half


Do i use both parts on the new strut mount? the spring just rests up on that lip, and I would think it would break it.. Am I wrong? Do I need to change out that metal plate from the other mount? If so how do I go about doing that? Green arrow points to the little lip the spring is resting upon..yes the lip is broken and had to go out and get a new one..
