Newbie on the forum and in need of some info. I am finally putting new struts on my 1999 Sunfire and in looking at RockAuto, I see 1st Design and 2nd Design front struts. How do I know which I have and does it matter? Does either one fit or/and do I have to get extra parts if I change design?
If you look at pics of them, they all look the same. If you Google this, you get no useful info so there is evidently not much out there on these. I had hoped that someone who has replaced their struts before had encountered this.Thanks in advance for any help and info.

Really? No one knows? I've been looking at the same problem and was hoping someone had an answer!

They changed in either 99 or 00. The only difference is the bearing in the upper mount. If you are buying pre-built strut/spring/mount you don't need anything extra.
