I am currently sitting here with all the parts minus the Saturn e-brake brackets to install the Saturn rear disc setup onto my 2004 Cavalier. The only thing I am missing are the two e-brake brackets that normally come on the Saturn rear disc calipers. I bought these calipers brand new but they didn't include the e-brake brackets.
I haven't had much luck at the junkyard and even if I found those, would they work correctly being I have a 2004 Cavalier? It seems GM changed the 2003+ rear e-brake cable and this may not work correctly with the Saturn E-brake bracket. One option is to mount the e-brake bracket onto the axle using the 2003+ cable
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=3&i=157231&t=157231 or swapping to the older J-body e-brake cable. However will that still bolt up to the caliper correctly without any machine work?
I am talking with OEM about making me the required brackets I need being I am looking for something that is bolt on with my current E-brake cables on my 2004 Cavy
Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do to get this project done? I don't want to install these without any working e-brake cable.

I set mine up just as roofy did. In my opinion thats the easies way around it. I'm going to hit my local u pull it place this weekend where i know there are cars with brackets. I can grab a couple for you if you cant find any locally. should you decide to go that.route

So you mounted each Saturn e-brake bracket onto the axle? I guess you just drill a hole and mount?
I will be sending you a PM about those e-brake brackets

Yep. drilled one hole as centered as i could eyeball it. which was right in the middle if where they are stamped LH/RH. On mine. and put a bolt and lockwasher and nut. Theres lots of room to wiggle it so i can lean it slightly to the side to keep the cable off the strut
The one thing about that is it will be pulling the caliper towards the strut instead of the caliper pulling on itself which can stress the caliper. The other option is to swap to 95-02 cables which ate only 10 bucks each more/less
I still haven't had a chance to track down a set of Saturn E-brake brackets. Any chance does anyone have a spare set? I most likely will need 1 or 2 other pairs if some local J-body people want them as well.
So if I pickup the e-brake cables for a 95-02 Cavy and swap those in, I can just keep the Saturn E-brake brackets on the calipers themselves? If this is the case, I will just do that vs trying to mount the bracket on the axle someplace.

I am going to pickup the 95-02 rear E-brake cables for my swap.
The Local auto store sells 2 different sizes for the rear e-brake cables. I am not sure which one to get.
Wagner BC138087
Rear; 8-55/64 x 1-49/64" Brake; 2 Required
Wagner BC138088
Rear; 7-7/8 x 1-49/64" Brake; 2 Required
They also sell the front forward E-brake cable which I know I don't need. However that lists at 7-7/8 so I wonder if the rear 7-78 is what I need?

Not sure which ones i used... mine were from rock auto i dont think there were size options...
Have a nice day.
id imagine since the 03 cables are too long youd want the shorter one?
