After 70,000 miles
Granted this was delivery mileage on southern Michigan back roads but still lesson learned don't buy cheap struts off eBay.
Lesson learned?
70k? You realize the normal replacement period for struts and shocks is normally around 40k, right? You went to 70k on back roads and (from what it looks like) an upper mount fell apart? Not bad IMO. You didn't buy cheap parts, you just used them longer than they should be used.
James speaks truth, 70K is a huge life for a dampener, especially for and economy line. I see this daily, people buying 2nd and 3rd line stuff and expect them to last as long as premiums. But you did well with them.
monroe is cheap junk anyway, and the ready strut and spring setup is real junk, be glad you got as long as you did.

Agreed with these guys, that it asking a lot for cheap struts...on MI roads you change them every 50k.
