REAR strut bar pre-review

For the folks who didn't know/care/arr new to the site, yours truly did a lil personal review of various front strut braces available.

<a href="http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=3&i=77746&t=77746">Front Brace Review</a>

Now as things come info play (tax returns), I'm going to be doing a review for thew rear strut bars.

I've recently purchased the Ractive brace that's been popping up on ebay.
And I'd like to say, I think they have one of the better designs to keep things flush, for the endlinks out there as seen here:

Anyone with a rear brace can tell you, that the one far end mounting point on the strut tower is rasies slightly. Mostly just because thas the way the thing was made.So if you take a standard end link, the thing is gonna be slanted. So I personally usually stack about 4-5 washers.

No so with this design. Pretty clever on Ractive's behalf. (although to be anal you can use maybe 1 washer)

So, later on I'll have the official review of the rear braces. They'll include the RK, Ractive, Vibrant, and Freedom Design. Others available are RSM, Mantapart, and custom. (DC sports too?)

Thanks for reading,
-M

i didnt need any washers with my freedon design rear brace , it had 1 hole that was bigger to go over the factory welded nut for the strut

Not for the hole.

I mean to keep the endlink asembly on the 'level'

There's only one nut on the rear mounts as you already know.

So when mounting a brace you can either put the endlink on the nut, or remove the nut and then place the endlink.
But if you do it that way, the link will be slanted. Hence why I've always stacked washers to level things out.

The bend in Ractives design is good for if you want to remove the nut first then place the link and finally tighten down.

But like I said, I'll cover all of that in the review. Gonna have to take plenty of pics that's for sure.
