my girlfriend went to the stealership to get her rotors changed for the second time in 5000 miles and was todl gm will no longer pay for them. last time they replaced them no problem for her, although she had to buy pads and i had to put them on. she has a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty that's only two years old this coming july. anyone have any info on this
Do you have any aftermarket suspension parts?
They should just keep replacing them for free. GM rotors are absolute crap...
If I were you, i'd just buy some quality rotors, change them yourself and be done with it. Save yourself of going to the dealership all the time...
i also meant to ask if anyone else has had to change their rotots this often, that's why i posted in this section.
but no, her car is comletely stick aside from the stereo i put in. i just told her a little bit ago to think about buying some slotted rotors and i'll put them on. i just don't know if she wants to spend 130 bucks on rotors
If you serviced her brakes yourself and the dealership knows that someone other than gm serviced the pads, that will void your warranty on the brake rotors. It is stupid, but they can say that the rotors would be straight if they had taken care of the brakes and who is going to prove that you did the brakes perfectly? They did it to me and may be doing the same to you. I doubt they are going to tell you that they are just not going to honor the warranty for no other reason than that they don't want to. If they tell you that then you should burn them as good as you can. Good luck!

they know i did the pads, but nothing was ever said about it. i don't think the guy she spoke to would say anyting about me doing her brakes, as he is a good friend of her family
normal wear items are only covered for 1 year 12k miles
clutch , brakes , tires , belt (unless something else cause it to fail that was acovered item)

i would just guy some autozone rotors, the best ones they sell and their performance friction carbon metallic pads and if she is that bad on breaks then at least you will only have to pay for them once.
see ya!
that would make sense, but when they changed them the first time it was already over a year and into the 20,000 mile range. oh well. i think i pretty much have her convinced into buying slotted rotors
thanks for the input fellas
