Well for the last several months(6-8) i have been accumulating parts to comepletly redo the suspension and brakes on my cavy.
And well this weekend was the time to finally get almost everything installed. I got Tokico D-spec struts, Vogtland 1.7 drop springs(the ones that were on ebay) the RK sport tubular comtrol arms and bear 13" front disk conversion and the 18x7 wheels i bought off ebay for 150 bucks.
Well it took me about 8 hours to get the drop done and the front brakes and control arms installed, just me and the radio in my garage. Wasnt hard, and it looks much better, and the new brakes feel alot better than upgraded stock brakes i had.
As for drop, well after my initial measurments im at about 1.5 or so all the way around, and for some reason my car is lower on the driver side by about a half in. I know this is normal, but i wish there was some way to correct it. Also for my test drive i had the struts adjusted to the recommended 5 turns off of full hard, and well it was pretty stiff, but not real bad, after about 30 minutes of driving i stopped and readjusted them to 7 turns off hard on the front and 10 turns of full hard in the back. The ride was much better, but after reading in the manual i just seen that full soft is at 7.5 turns, so i will go to that setting in the morning and see how that feels.
It seems to handle alot better than with the stock springs and struts, which i am pretty sure were worn out, it was starting to get a little on the bouncy side. The D-specs are very easy to adjust, and come with a neat little tool that is indexted so you can tell exactly when you have gone one full turn. I feel they are worth the money spent.
I also installed a set of 18x7 Fondmetal 6700 wheels that are white with yoko 225/40 rubber, the stock 205/55 16's i had on the front were completly shot to hell. I only had two tires for now so the new wheels are only installed on the front untill i can get the money to buy two more, 140 bucks each is kinda steep for me. I had to put them on the front to clear the Baer 13" brakes, the stock 16's werent even close to fitting, so they will be for sale soon. In the next few days i will be getting the Baer 12" rear disk conversion installed, just waiting on some fittings and line lock solenoid to hook up the rear brake lines, im installing a line lock solenoid on each rear brake to make burnouts easier and less wear and tear on the brakes, you have to use two because of the split diagnoal type of brake system the j's have on them, if i tried to install one in the front liek normal it would lock one front and one rear wheel. So i figured out a way around that. Also im hoping to have the other 2 wheels installed before the end of next month, will have to see how my funding goes.
Ok, well this is way longer that i thought it was going to be. Will post some pics in the morning.

Im premium since January, but why doesnt it say that?????
Ok well my regular digi camera broke, i guess it didnt like me dropping it. So i had to take the pics with my digi camcorder, and the quality isnt that good, kind blury, but you can get the idea.
Heres a shot of it at stock height right after i swapped on a set of Z wheels in place of the 15" steelies mine had on it stock.
And heres a shot i took this morning with it sitting in my driveway, Looks awesome i think, and just what i was looking for, lower but not to low for a daily driver.
A close up of the new wheels and brakes, again i know its blury and will have to go and get a new camera Asap so i can take some good pics.
And one last close up of the back, i wil have the Baer brakes installed here in a few days and hopefully atleast be able to get one more tire so im rolling on 3 of the four.
Ok, well thats all for now. Let me knwo what you all think.

I am all that is man
Yeah im trying to get the cash to get them, but well have to see what happens. Yeah I also readjusted the struts today and i think i happy with the current setup for daily driving and would have to play with it more at the track. I finalized on 5 turns off full hard on the front and 6 in the back.
