Well I'm about to mention two things that should never be mentioned together ever. I was wondering if there is such a thing as (performance) (shoes/drums) ............. Now that everyone has stopped laughing, if there are such things could anyone suggest which ones I should get and if there aren't (Please don't mock me too much). I don't have the cash to upgrade my rear drums to discs, I wish I did.

Actually... I have some ferodo shoes waiting to go on (along with drums from a 2004 with the 231mm drums). My stock drums are 207mm.
Well i know they used to make actual performace brake shoes, but they have pretty much gone by the wayside almost like drum brakes these days. You maqy be able to find a place that still relines the shoes themselves and they migh be able to make you some performancetype shoes. MIght be able to get bigger wheel cylinders that will increase the holding power.
In the S-10 world you can get rear wheel cylinders for a truck with manual brakes and it makes a big differance in how much the rear brakes grab, but imnot sure any 3rd gen or even 2nd gen j-bodys even came with manual brakes. Might be worth a look see.
