need brakes
Friday, April 29, 2005 12:54 PM
im in the market for some new pads and rotors and was wondering what kind of aftermarket options i had. I had the OEM ones on and i ended "warping" the rotors to bad to cut. also i use my brakes really hard at times and i dont think the OEM's will stand up. so any options or ideas will be greatly appreciated. thanks o and it's a 04 cav

I'm using axxis ultimate pads. They withstand autocrossing very well. The NOPI store actually has a really good price on them and the brembo OEM replacement rotors.

I am using slotted and cross drilled rotors with Apex Kevlar pads. They work great.

Just about anything is better than stock

The stock rotors seem susceptible to severe run-out.... within a pretty short lifetime too... I killed mine after 26,000 km's..

I wonder what's the deal with the stock rotors going wrong that every aftermarket company has done right??

Powerslots are cadmium plated and slotted. They are also available cyrogenically treated. IMO Powerslots are the way to go if you want a rotor upgrade that is actually proven to work.

so ive got it down to either powerslots or baers for rotors
ti22, axxis ultimate, or hawk ferro carbon

any suggestions? is either rotor better than the other? any pad better/quieter/less dust than the others?
