Can I 2000 convertable cavalier w/ 2200 strut tower bar fit on a 2002 cavalier, w/ 2200?
If you have the 2200 or the 2.2I would highly suggest you get the GM brace if you don't want to deal with any fitment issues like I did with an ebay bar.
Xian G, the chassis is the same from 95-05, so the strut tower bar should fit your car fine. Be sure to bolt it down to the firewall if you want to improve it's stiffening.
Ok thanks Zach. GM could never answer that for me.
I just pulled this number off another post, lol. 22642387
Supposedly thats the STB for a 2000 w/ cruise control, that correct?
i got the gm bar too....i love it, no fitment issues at all
I got a Vibrant bar for $55. Went in perfectly, no fitment problems at all.

I just received the GM Strut brace. I know it mounts to the firewall.
At GM, i was looking at the parts diagram for it, and it didn't show a part or # for what is used to attach it to the firewall.
My question is, is it a bolt, or a stud with a nut that it mounts to. And, is it already there? If not, what size bolt or nut do I need?
Thanks ahead.
well when i went to insatall it on my car the holes for the firewall mounts weren't high enough to bolt it. If you want i have the factory bolts.

Thanks. There was a stud on the fire wall, to mount the brace, exactly where the pcm was mounted with a nut.
Since I still have stock intake (no room), I had to fabricate the existing bracket and move the pcm.
After that, the cruise control bolted on to the bracket on the brace, and fitment was no problem. Thanks for the offer though. Much appreciated.
