Eibach Sportline.
Sunday, May 01, 2005 7:44 PM
Going to be droping my car with the Eibach sportlines. I'm going to do it on stock struts I know its not a good move but I cant take the gap. I will however upgrade the struts in about a month. I'm trying to decide if I wanna use KYB, or Koni's. Anybody have some experenice? Well I know I will prolly be flamed for the stock strut thingy but the gap is killing me.

the KYBs are not warrented for the sprotline drop. the AGX made by kyb are only good to a 1.5 inch drop. Koni all the way for sportlines

I just read that Gravana has the Yellows for 500. Save yourself the trouble and wait a month and put it all on at the same time.

Don't waste your time doing the install/alignment/etc twice... be patient.. trust me.

Sportlines are like, the second lowest lowering spring you can get... (I think... aren't Sprints the lowest?).

Anyway... on stock struts... it @!#$ BLOWS!! the difference (stock to Konis) is like night and day. You will never go back.. just trust me on it, ok?

and those are the highlights. I can agree with all of the above. doing them both at once is THE way to go.

The Reds & Yellows are the only struts warrantied for Sportlines, right? I thought the new Tokico's aren't warrantied for that low of a drop?

ANd Im thinking of Tein coilovers now.

You should just do a write up on all the suspension products that you have used/ have in your garage.

as far as i know the tokico d specs are warrantied for the same amount of drop as the konis and are an easier install

nope I just hate paying for an alignment twice for the same drop.

first on due to height, the second due to you have removed everything and now its all messed up.

The sportline drop isn't that bad. Its 1.7 front and 2.3 rear. Not sure on the rear but that's pretty much what it came out to be for me. Ride isn't as bad as everyone says it is. If you don't drive like a maniac you'll be fine with stock struts for a while. I've been on stock struts for over a year no problems.

Im currently on sportlines with the stock struts (car was like it when I bought it) and the ride isn't "horrible", but it definetly isn't that great. I have no idea how long its been like this, atleast 6,000 miles I know of. Point is I can't wait to get my koni yellows, hopefully in june, from graduation money.

i'm looking to get the koni's and sportlines myself. i just have stock skirts and bumpers. does anyone experience any real significant problems with speedbumps/driveways/nasty inclines?

Sorry if this is post stealing, but i'm interested

Thanks
Sean

Does anyone know for a fact that the Tokico's are warrantied for the Sportline drop? Because if they are, I would rather get those instead of Koni's since you don't have to cut up your stock struts for the install. I thought I read a post somewhere that Tokico won't warranty a drop as low as the Sportlines.

man I can only imagine the sportlines on stock, eeww I feel for ya.

I went nearly a week with the only prokit on, i though my teeth were gonna rattle out of my head. and that I would need to re-torque half the bolts in the car

wishihadanelky - when you get those Konis you see just how bad stock is, the Koni struts will get your ride quality back and keep you styling as you drive down the road.

Cargazm4u - some do some don't really depends on where you live how ya drive etc do a "search" on the sportlines you will see the varied opinions out there.

why not go to their web site and see for yourself, if i tell you they are then you have to take my word for it. I don't really know myself.

I think the thing that did it for me.... was when I was in Toronto... summer 2001... shortly after dropping the car on stock struts and Eibach Sportlines... was a couple of posers in a Honduh next to me at a stop asking me..

"Why did you cut your springs"

My response "I didn't... they're Eibachs"

"Oh, well get some struts... cuz your bouncing all over the place"

Pretty much summed it up. Oh, and the fact that my passenger and best friend Kevin decided to switch to Darren's car once we met up with him in Regina... (that was on the way to the Bash... 2001)..

He didn't get back into my car until Darren left us and headed north in Montana... he couldn't stand the ride it was so @!#$ty.

I'm riding on sportlines on stock struts and it sucks. Bounces like crazy on big bumps/potholes,and the scraping is definately no fun at all.
