does the ride really suck with stock struts? I want to lower my car but don't have the money for koni's right now. Should I lower it now and add the koni's next spring? Or is the blown strut ride tolerable? any help would be appreciated.
hugs and hand pounds, peace
Keep saving. Don't do the job twice, do it once and get it right young grass hopper.
ok, heres logic on this.
blown struts... ever see bums walk around with crappy torn shoes in the city?
after a while their feet get damaged and bleed cause they step on rocks, glass, and more. then they also get callouses.
notice because of one thing, another bad thing happens, then another.
similar with suspension.
your struts blow, making the car bounce around and everyone knows you are just another cheap person who can afford struts but didnt. so being the way people are, you are ridiculed.
then cause you keep bouncing around, you put yourself at higher risk for an accident if you have to brake quickly. cant hold the road in braking if you are bouncing.
then in addition, to that, your struts are supposed to take the shock of bumps.... they cant cause they are blown. so it then transfers to supporting pieces, strut mounts, a arm bushings, etc... so then you damage those...
and people wonder why their car starts to have so many parts fail.
save your money, do it right, do it once, and be done with it is what i reccomend. unless you just enjoy redoing things and wasting money.
Just save for the koni struts, so much more worth the hassle then having your car lowered for the season. If it bothers you that much that your car sits as high as it does, do like me... ive been at work since 11:30 this morning, and I still have 3 hours to go (Its 7 o'clock right now).
, work your ass off for it because then it feels twice as good!
Out of all the places to cheap out on, don't make it your suspension... its what keeps the car level and rolling!
Do it right the first time.
I've been riding on sportlines and stock struts for about 3 weeks and it sucks. At first it didnt seem too bad but when you stop and think about it the bounciness is just crap. The good thing is that I dont put many miles on my car so I dont have to deal with it too often, but doing the struts at the same time is the best idea. My excuse is that I'm saving money for my trip to california this summer so I'll get my konis after
