D-spec and Prokit .... can you say rails?
Thursday, May 12, 2005 9:01 AM
I just could wait till monday to do a write-up with pictures from the RSM show and from an autoX event this sunday but.... i couldn't

last week thurday i got my D-specs and prokit from Custom Car Tuner. I'd like to thank Scott at Custom Car Tuner for all his help and suggestions with finding the best suspension for my needs. With great customer service and quick shipping, I strongly recomend CCT for anyone here. This past monday they were installed and by tuesday at lunch the car was back in my hands with a killer alignment.

started at the recommended starting point 2 front and 2 rear.... then i bumped the rear to 3.... this setting wasn't too bad

i then raised the stiffness to 3 front and 4 rear.... can you say night and day.... this setting was great! the car wasn't too bouncy and not too stiff.. perfect for me and the roads around here. she (the car) kept the corners pretty tight keeping my Falken 451 in check. not a peep out of the tires either. bumps in the roads were delt very well with this setting.

lastnight i headed to Kitchener for a car meet. i decided to up it one more knotch... 4 front 5 rear. this was only good for smooth sections of the hwy and city streets... any bumps and you feel it... i didn't feel like this setting was good for hwy driving nor for everyday driving IMO.

Come sunday at the autox event i'll write another post about them.

all thats left to get is a rear sway bar and subframe brace.

Pics to come Monday after the show and racing

Yeah, I just got my D-specs and B+G sport springs on last Friday and she took corners very well, I also got the Falkens Ziex on 18's, and she stuck to the ground and took a sharp left turn going about 55mph like a champ, with the tires squealing......I love it..... At first I had the setting to the reccomanded setting for street use point 2 Front and 2 Rear and that wasn't bad........than I set the front to 3 and left the rear at 2, not much of a difference, maybe a little bumper.......I'm going to try your setting today.......but the rear is a pain in the butt to get too cause of my subs........I'll let ya know......Later!!!!!!!!!

So you like them do ya, I will have to come and take a look on Sunday. The last couple of autocrosses last year I would run my AGX's full hard front and rear and the car was awesome but that was on stock springs.

i'm going to the one in molson park the day after the RSM show. I mainly race the WOSCA events out of Woodstock.

i think that the car will do pretty good... mind you i'm with out the rear sway and subframe brace.. but everything else is done... and i'n not running R-comp this year.

will you be attending either of them? and where do you solo2?

wow.. highjacked my own thread

Ecotecflow.... if you make the rear end stiffer you will help reduce understeer. thats why my setting is one step higher than the front. i have yet to try 2 steps.. but for street i don't believe that its needed.

I will be all over the place, I do mostly all the regional and then when ever I have spare time and a event line up I will go. I also do the PITL events and there pro slaloms there alot of fun. I live in Toronto so I am kinda central to alot of the events.

I have Sportlines, D-Specs, Eiback front/rear sway bars, and front/rear strut braces. Talk about riding on rails I love my D-Specs. And both sway bars will make a HUGE improvement.

mod fire try going up in the rear until you feel like the rear is hopping and snap oversteering then you come back down until it goes away and the rear is set for auto cross. if it still is pushing then go up 1 in the rear well that is what i did to get a ball park in my cav with agx's here is a clip from sunday right click save as
