I just lowerd my car thursday, and the rear struts work perfect no harsh ride at all or anything, well the front every time a hit a bump in the road it sounds like something is hitting in the front wheel wells. I took the car to the alignment shop and I used the washers that came with the kit for the 00+ strut mounts. I have a 2005 cavalier ls sport and i still have the tires and rims that came with the car..I am running an eibach prokit with these struts. Is there a chance that its the wheel hitting the wheel well or the strut is somehow loose which is what the alignment shop mentioned? its just that the front sounds like its about to fall out and I have no clue what the problem coudl be...

are the struts adjusted to a stiffer setting? i know i had the same problem when i put on my D-spec's, and it turned out they were set as weak as they go. so i just stiffened em up via the adjusting and all set.

The front goes up to a 4 setting and i'm running it on a 2 setting right now for a break in period though i turned it up to 3 yesterday and it still made the same noise...the guys at the alignment shop looked at it and said tat it looked like the front struts were moving around to much or something, I was planning on going to the older strut mounts...though what else could be wrong?

Could very well be a shot strut... I just had one of my rear struts brand new less than a month on my car blow a seal and leaked oil everywhere.. When i installed my mounts onto them i used Ones i bought from Event in which he only used for like 2 weeks.. no problems on my end.
well see the sound is coming from both sides of the front....i have the 00+ strut mounts as of right now...they don't seem that sturdy.

Holy Crap.... i just re-read what i posted... My mind was going faster than i was typing. I meant to say its a possible shot strut mount... Damn... Then again when my rear went, i was getting a clunking noise till i got a new one swaped in.

may also need more spacer washers to take up the slack. i also needed like 2 more washers to hold the strut tight.

Regular ones you can get from the hardware store. But make sure they are stainless. Or if you still cannot find them, contact KYB and i am sure they will send some to you. All you need to tell them is you need the spacer to accomadate the new version of strut mounts. Shouldn't be any cost.. i would think.
I thought the same thing was happening to me on speed bumps, but it turns out I just scrap if I go over them too fast.
