What are the benefits of having an air-ride suspension system as opposed to other suspension systems?
Also what are the downsides to having an air-ride system?
depends on what you use it for. its great for shows. coils have better handling then bags. air ride you have maintenance. you also have maintenance w/ hydros but w/ hydros you are using air so if you spring a like your car is getting messy. read the faq in this forum. event explains alot of this

Thanx for the info. I've decided to go air ride, and start savin' up. Hopefully I'll be able to get it by the end of summer. Working 2 jobs is a bish...
air is soooooooooo worth it tho.... layin it down on the freeway, layin it down when you park, layin it down alll the time
1st 1st gen on air.....
I think having bags is crossing from performance to show...there is more weight added to our vehicle but such an advantage and it's...well...SO COOL TO HAVE! I want them bad...

I would have to say air ride if you have the money and patience.
There are plenty of pro's and con's. For me and most others with air ride, I think the pro's far outweigh the cons.

tell that to the wrx that rallys on bags
Well i LOVE AIR. BUT Im getting sick of it on my J.
My easystreet struts have gone to total crap on me. The front struts are compleatly blown. and the noise issues are really getting anoying. People look at me when I drive by and I dont know if its because they like my car or the noises are anoying them.
We have all read on this site enough times about how blown struts are bad right? Well its just as bad with air bags. THe handling sucks now. ANd the front strut replacment was about $95 last time I purchased one. Im not about to go off buying two of those every year.
I just cant wait till I get a truck that I can bag and have a smooth riding air ride equiped means of transportation.
I am all that is man
