does anyone know what all is involved in converting my rear drums to discs??
omg really, i would never have thought of that by myself
get a big brake kit its easier, unless you can machine parts. basically all it is, is a metal plate you need to convert them. there was gp about a year ago for these plate. i think they went for like 150 for a set. then you can basically take corvette brakes and put them on.
well, I'm sure there's alot of reSEARH involved
you need to make sure that your conversion dosn't unbalence the brake system, generally you want smaller brakes in the rear, after you have found appropriate calipers and disks, you need to make custom brakets to mount the calipers, have the disks drilled for a 5x100 bolt pattern, and get brake lines to connect it all up
Disclaimer: if you mess up your car, yourself, or anything else because you thought I gave you all the information, it's your fault, not mine, I told you that you need to do some research. And I'd suggest you go out and buy a kit instead of making your own. It takes quite a bit of mechnical expertise. And if you have to ask the question "what's involved..." then you don't have that expertise.
Do you know if the Baer rear disc conversion also applies to 98 model years ( with the exception of buying bigger rims and tires for clearance)?
