A couple of suspension questions
Saturday, June 25, 2005 7:49 AM
Hey guys,
I have a couple questions on my 01 Cavalier 2.4L suspenison situation. I recently bought a set of Tein S Tech lowering springs. They dropped my front 1.7 in, and my rear 1.5 in. I am considering 3 different sets of replacement struts, but would like to ask your opinions. I'm considering either the AGX's, the GR-2's, or the Koni red/yellow series. Honestly I'm not the type that really would adjust my levels very often, but I'd like to get a great strut/shock replacement now that my car is lowered (lol considering the Cavie's POS stock struts). Now the thing is I've heard rumors that the AGX's are prone to burst when hitting a pothole, etc....but I'm skeptical. Any word on that?

Last question....I'm also ordering a new strut tower brace, and was looking at the Ractive and the Vibrant Race brace. Any feed back on these would be awesome. thanks again

the GR2s are like a stock replacment and not ment for lowering.
the AGX are good for a 1.5 inch drop
the Koni yellows and reds are good up to 3 inches, maybe more

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

I think I'm settling on the Konis' but still have a question. On their site, they say that the reds and yellows are adjustable, but only yellow's are externally adjustable...could you explain...I'm still kinda new to the strut area....like I know how they can adjust externally, but what about internally?

Once you install the Yellows you can still adjust them while they are on the car. The reds you have to take off the car in order to adjust. I have the Tiens on yellows and i highly recomend the yellows. i was going to get the kybs but the drop in the front voided the warentee.

as far as the strut tower bars go they all do the same thing i got a front and rear bar and i love them the made a noticable differnce.
