Has anyone had problems with their caster adjustment when lowering the car?
My first gen is lowered on KYBs and Eibacks. I can get the toe and camber perfect, but am having trouble with the caster angle. The spec calls for .7 to 2.7 positive with an optimal setting of 1.7. I can only get .4 positive. Should I slot the top strut mount more and use washers? Something I am not overly happy about doing.
Also, I noticed that different J cars from the same year are listed with different settings for caster. Does anyone have a good feeling for how tire size affects the caster angle. I wouldn't think it does, but maybe I'm missing something.

Tire size won't affect your caster.
If you only have 0.4 positive consider yourself lucky. That should make for a very good steering response. It does reduce your high speed stability though. I really wouldn't worry about it too much unless one side was at 0.4 and the other side was at like 2.4 or something.
I wouldn't slot the strut towers. There is a lot of force being applied there.
My thoughts exactly.
Nope .4 positive both sides. It was negative before pulling up on the frame rails. In addition, I did see some changes to caster as I adjusted the camber. That's why I asked the camber to caster interaction question.
Funny thing is when I set up my 98 with the RK sport coilovers, I didn't have any problems. Only needed a small tweak to the right strut tower for camber and it was perfect.
