Extending wheel base.

If I wanted to move out the front and rear wheels by a inch on both sides what would need to be custom made? Would I have to get a custom hub assembly? Or could I just get some lengthened studs and a spacer plate?

I can imagine that this would cause extra strain in places, but would \ could this be feasible with a 97 Sunfire?

you want to make the car wider ??

or do you want it longer ??

your title asks 1 while your question asks another

if you want the tires to stick outside of the fender more , just get a different offset wheels , or use a bolt on spacer

Opps... Forgot a word in the message. I want to move the tires out, as in wider.

either get a different off set wheel that moves them out , or get a 1" spacer that bolts to the hub , and the wheel bolts to the spacer

When you say "different off set wheel" do you mean someone makes rims that space the tires out farther?

It would be probably cheaper just t buy bolt on wheel spacers. That way it is reversible too, incase you change your mind later, or want to sell the car.

If you do want new rims though, just buy ones with a different offset.

you can do it like said above, but be aware you can and will wear the hubs out quicker with the leverage the wheels will put on em. if you are doing it for a widebody kit, might wanna check into a different offset wheel.

yea.... wheel spacers suck. Cause more problems then anything else...... (brings to mind the time I seen a 'pimped' corolla sitting on the drivers fender..... and the wheel was in the ditch.)

it happens if you use cheap spacers , there make some very good spacers that will work

but yes i was refering to a offset wheel that has a larger lip , similar to rear drive cars
