ok, guys here's my problem. about 2 months ago i went and got new brakes, because they were really low and the car was sqwuealing like a stuck pig. the squeaking stopped, but now its doing it again. everytime i step on the brakes it'll squeak, and also sometimes when i dont even touch the brake i can hear the squeaking. say i just take off from a parking lot i can hear the car squeak as i start to drive away. what gives? i know i should just take it to the mechanic but i'd like to know what u guys think first.
Did you get the premium ceramic brakes? If so, did they use the lube? I see this problem plenty. The dust from ceramic brakes gets behind the pads and they squeek.
honestly, i have no idea what they did except for them installing new brakes. the work was done by a family friend that has his own shop. the work was supposed to cost about 100 bux, but he gave me a 20 buck discount. im not sure if the price helps. so you think it just might be dust? somebody mentioned to me that the brakes might just need grease.
When you buy new pads from AutoZone, Napa, etc. they always sell you two little grease packets (one for each side) to put on the contacts where the pads connect to the caliper. It says right on there that if you don't do this step, they may squeak.
