front end vibration/humm
Friday, July 08, 2005 2:08 PM
Over the past few months I've had this vibration humm noise comming from my front end. I think it's my strut mounts, but not really sure. My mechanic isn't sure what it is either. It has 2 new front hubs, and struts have about 8,000 miles on them, and springs have about 12,000. Oh and strut mounts have about 72,000mi on them... It almost sounds like tires going over rumble strips, but not as loud, and not very frequent. It started out on the left side, but now is in both sides. Any suggestions? or is this a frequent problem w/ j's?? Thanks guys! (and girls)

it sounds like you have bad tires

my car is a girl because I describe her as sexy, beautiful, hot. I look at her curves, and I caress her body once a week with various soaps and sponges. Also, I get in and out of her every day.

Rotate your tires and see if the noise is gone or changed. If it is, then your tires are messed up. If not, then I would assume it is the wheel bearings.
