hey all
my parts are now here and if anyone could help me out with any advice or any instructions for the install that would be great
also can i mount them on new stock mounts?
thnx in advance
Whats up people?
the install is pretty straight forward. I highly reccomend an impact wrench for getting the strut bolts off, and a spring compressors for safety (the spring compressors can be rented from an autozone)
Having a friend that works at a shop is as always the best way to do this.
yes you can use the stock mounts.
However make sure you have the spacer washers in the AGX boxes, or call them up and ask for them(they'll send them to you for free). If your handy you can get sufficient washers for this at the hardwarestore after putting the strut mount on the shaft these will be needed to take up the space between where the strut nut sits and the base of the strut mount. These are required or you WILL cause serious damage to your car, and create a very unsafe situation, because to function properly the strut needs to be firmly secured to the strut mount.
goodluck with the install, I know your gonna love the ride

I have an 05, but i have 99 mounts on it, I kept my bolts from the 00+ mounts, will i be able to use these instead of washers?
you cannot use nuts as washers
My AGX's came with sort of a washer built in to the nut (the bottom of the nut flares out). Problem free here.
The only thing I can suggest is to point the knob on the rear struts towards the outside of the car. Its a real pail to adjust them when they point inwards (becuase thats how I have mine
).
agx corrected the problem quite a few months ago.... shouldnt need to get any spacers.
I had the same problem with my Tokico D-Specs
i just posted on this in a new topic... im really blind. I got mine a while ago and they didnt have the flair... i guess i need washers. Any idea on how much space i need to take up? Will one washer work and from a hardware store? Any type? Or do i need a special one from kyb

Do you have to use 99 mounts if you have and 03 and up??
since no one has directly answered my question...here is what the 00+ strut mount bolts look like...if for some reason my set doesnt come with a spacer or whatever, will i be able to use these?
?
nwcavi: Yes you were answered. It's right below your last post.

It's not threaded far enough, that's why you need washers to space it out. So having more nuts it not going to fix the problem.

1st: i meant nut, i was in a rush out the door to help trim bballjamal's bumper support.
2nd: im not trying to add more nuts, if you have ever seen both 95-99 mount and 00+ mounts you would understand that they have different strut nuts. The 00+ have a large gap below them to give a spacing effect.
Nevermind about the whole thing i guess, when i put my AGX's in I will be sure to take pictures of it all
When installed my d-specs I used a cutting tool and cut off the bottom part of that nut off and used it as a spacer between the strut mount and the nut that Tokico supplied. That fixed my problem.

This implies you are trying to directly swap the nuts in for the washers. This is not possible, as we all know.
I now understand you meant to ask "if I use nuts from a 00+ in place of the 99- nuts on the struts mounts, will I still need washers", the answer is no you don't need washers with those nuts.
Be more concise and we wont have these problems.

haha, thanks now i know exactly what i wanted to know. I guess i should have taken the time to be more specific on what i was asking, instead of typing quick and running out the door and asking questions later
. Thanks mucho for the info!!
