can anyone point me in the right direction as to how much offset with a 16x7 wheel i need to clear these big freaking calipers

I have konig verdict 17s right now which clear just fine with a 40mm offset but i been told i need way more? These are not ideal for racing i want a rim less than 15lbs and in a 16 inch wheel

will the Enkei RS+M wheel work its a 5x100 and 45mm offset?

I am not that familiar with the Wilwood Calipers, so take this a with a large grain of salt!

More offset will put the wheel in to the car farther.

Offset is how far the face of the rim in offset to the outside.
A trailer tire has 0 offset (usually), this mean the hub face (the back side of the rim that goes up against the hub) is centered in the rim.
Most FWD cars have some offset, GM is normally 40mm. This pushes the hub out farther into the wheel.

Getting a rim with more offset alone will simply push the rubber farther into your car. It will not give more clearance for the brakes. What you want (as I understand it) is more offset and spacers to compensate (keeping the wheel in the same position, while allowing more clearance).

The fatter your tire, the less offset you'll want to keep it from hitting on the inside. But a 16x7 will have no clearance issues, even a 16x7.5 still shouldn't (only adds .25" to the inside). I'm not sure about a 16x8+ as that's getting fat.

The 45mm offset you mentioned is only 0.2" difference, doesn't fit my definition of "way more".

not sure what you want, but enkeis rpo2-J is a 15.7 lbs wheel in a 17... 16 should be a bit less in weight.

basically check out most forged wheels and if you get a chance, not sure if wilwood has it, visit a place with the wheel and use the template if they provide it.
