ok, just some advice, YES i did buy DROPZONE coilovers and struts, NO the ride isnt GOOD, its BAD, i BOUNCE fscking EVERYWHERE, haha, whats the illsided effects of this??????????? whats the quickest way to solve my problem? can i get better struts to stop the bouce? or better coilovers? what should happen? or a new system all together
Ive read a little more, and it seems like i can get struts to compensate the spring rate??? YES? I need some information, can you help me at all?
lol must bother you really bad since you replyed to your own post so fast. And your right get some after market struts to control those spring rates better. I would recomend koni adjsutables AKA Yellows that will help you out tremandously. good night man and keep reading up......
Ok, thanks, ya, im kinda freaking out about this. I have dropzone struts, but you recomend Koni yellow's........ok, sounds good, please someone else give advice haha!
What most people are gonna tell you is get rid of the Dropzones, they're crap.
If you REALLY want coilovers, go Ground Controls and Koni yellows.
^ bingo... and unless your really going to adjust them alot just get springs... ive never trusted coilovers. But then again ive never seen a car on ground control and they get mad praise on the jbo.

what struts did you get? i would get rid of the dropzones all together. the spring rate is too high on them and even w/ konis it might work for a little bit but its still not going to be a nice ride

get better coilovers, and actual struts. dont ruin your car with crappy suspension parts.
a hard head will make a soft arse.
they are so expensive, for a set of koni yellow's and ground control's i minus well save an extra 300 bucks and get air ride........... do you know anywhere that i can get pretty cheap koni yellows and ground controls??????? thanks alot for your help guys
you riding with the coilovers as low as they will go ?

Air ride is not a performance suspension and should not be compared to GC w/ Yellows.
Air ride is for looks and looks only. It sucks for performance driving.
GC w/ Yellows is maximum performance. For those who need to be able to customize the ride down to 0.01".
If you just want something good, and mild drop, go with KYB AGX and Eibach Pro-Kit.
If you want the max drop go with Yellows and Eibach Sportslines.
What kind of suspension are you after? Looks, performance, Adjustability?

i agree that air ride isnt for performance but it certain doesnt suck for performance.
i dont know where you looking at koni/gc deals because for an extra 300, that isnt gonna get you an air ride kit. koni/gc packages are like 900 bucks. you arent gettin' a decent air ride kit at 1200.
Ok.. "Sucks" was too stong a word. I should have said, "there are many better options".
I agree, ~$800 to $900 for a good suspension setup. Your either getting @!#$ty air, or an incomplete kit for $1200.
Look in the classifieds and pick up the following:
Set of AGX struts = $300
Set of Eibach Prokit Springs = $100-$150
You won't have ride height adjustability, but you will have: better handling, much more comfortable ride and reduced wheel gap (good looks)
Just my opinion.
Maybe you can post your current setup on ebay and get $50 toward a new setup!!

i've yet to see an air bagged car, run hard for long...and by run hard i mean be thrown into turns....
i;ve only seen one kit designed for performance, but for wrx;s....
tyson however has a good idea. if you want stuff cheap...
you WILL pay for quality, theres no cheaping out about it.
im not looking for preformance or ne thing, i just want a really low car, i also want a good ride.................. i guess koni yellows and ground control's are gonna be the best way to go.....???????/
This may be a stupid question, but not knowing the answer, i must ask, can i get koni yellow's and put them on my dropzone coilovers? What will happen?
so.....my dad posed a good question tonight, is it possible to put a different spring rated coilover in the back, because it only bounces in the back casue its soo light.......
you can change spring rates with a decent set of coilovers...
however if it bounces, its not really the coilovers, its usually the fact that your struts are not handling the spring you put back there...
so if your thinking, buy cheap coilovers, and stay on stock struts and then add a softer spring, not a good idea. your handling will def be awkward in the turns especially. cause now the rear will dip excessively in comparisson to the front.
usually when you get into choosing spring rates to match what you have up front, you should have an understanding about the damping force of the struts you use.
else it can be like driving on coilovers up front and then stock struts and springs in the rear. which gives unpredictable handling.
if you want a really low car, look into air bag suspension. all suspensions that are mechanical are made to have wheel travel, not to be set as low as it can possible go...
read the FAQ as well, i know i described this in detail.
I can't recommend it either, like said above just not a safe ride man. having your car do the same thing every time all the time is important. I know its extreme but can you imagine turning the wheel left and all of a sudden the car goes right?
I'm with Event on this one. If you want, you can put different springs on the back. Right now the spring rates are not the same. So don't think they have to be. It's just you really need to understand what you're doing before you consider swapping out springs and those things.
If you want the adjustability (or a good drop), go with the GC + Koni Yellows. You'll not regret it. They'll be hard, but the Koni's will not be bouncy at all.
If you want bags. Go with the easystreet kit. For people who want the ultimate in looks, but not ultra handling, it's the way to go.
