They are out there but the ride they give you will suck. save some more cash up and get some good springs and struts.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

so its better just to get the lowering springs and getting the strut bars for stability...?
i thought the coilovers gave you better handling also...? so i figured coilovers and struts would be a preety good ride...?

Better handling yes, better ride (passenger comfort) no.

Coilovers are very stiff, high spring rates. They'll be very bouncy if you don't have good struts (Koni Yellows).

Not strut BARS, just struts (for the time being anyway).

If you're pretty sure you like the sound of a 1.5" drop, just get a set of Eibach Prokits, H&R, or B&G springs (you can order them from Karo www.carcustoms.com or Jim www.gravanatuning.com, give them an email and theyll hook you up - and remember Karo has free shipping in the US). With those springs, you want to upgrade your struts, go with KYB AGX, Tokico D-Spec or Koni Yellows. If you get lower springs than those listed, your only good options for struts would be the D-Specs and the Yellows.

coilovers, dont suck....

i drive through inner city baltimore on coilovers daily. and the years i lived on campus as towson university. all around baltimore theres construction and when i go home to see my mom, its DC.... dc is not road friendly...

thats the biggest misconception...

ground controls wont suck if you put em on with the right struts, ride comfort either..... in addition to having the bearings, their spring rates can be changed from as low as 200 up to 900lb/in

in a nut shell, you can get springs softer than even what pro kits are estimated as...

coilovers offer a greater deal of adjustability, not only height wise, but also spring rate wise...

if you get cheap coilovers, like 35$ for all 4.... yea your stuck basically...

ground control are the most readily adjustable...the ones from rksport can be adjusted using eibach springs if need be.

but definately read the FAQ again, it pretty much tells you which coilovers are crap and which ones are decent.

find a new mechanic. he is a retard. if you want coils, i highly suggest you get konis w/ them. dont buy agxs for coils. you can but they arent really made to handle coils. if you go w/ springs, agx are good. whatever you do if you do lower the car, please get new struts. stock struts are not going to hold up on a lowered car. also read the faq for what companies to go with. dont buy any junk from ebay. if they are like 30-80 bucks for coils, their cheap crap. stay away.
