I just finished my fourth autox yesterday, and I have to say that the Gtech pro with the road race firmware is a great in car toy. It records gforce and rpm versus time, so you can download to your computer later. It will also let you know what your peak g-forces are (in all four directions)
I pulled 1G left, and 1.03G right!
The disclamer, these are peak g-forces, and not a skidpad, which should be conciderably less.

g-tech is a pretty good tool no doubt. its all about entering the right info and a solid mount surface. the switchbacks in autoX will throw you some higher g's, but as you get better you will notice higher sustained g;s especially if you do the full playback.
I don't mean to get too technical on you, but there are 3 axis of vectorial acceleration, going in 6 directions. You are getting the 4 most common ones. G forces are a crappy imperial unit, roughly 32 ft/sec, and can be applied to any acceleration, not just centripetal.
I would personally like to see the last two the most, cause then you know how well your suspension is holding your car on the ground, and not letting it lift up.
That's pulling a good G. I might have to look into something like this so I can quantify the difference between stock and IRS suspension this winter.

CTS: I only listed the lateral G's, because the others weren't quite as nice, .48G accel, and .89G braking. Vertical G's would be really nice to measure, but also a huge pita. I think the only way to do it would be somehow measureing the force exerted on each spring and calculating that against the other two axis. (sounds really expensive, and only practical for BIG buget racing).
novaracer: thanks for the compliment, ride hight is lowered 1.5", otherwize all allignment is stock... -1 degrees camber at all 4 coners, about 5 degrees caster, and 1/16" toe. I was running 40psi at all four corners. I am definitely noticing some wear at the outside edge of the front tires, and could use another degree of negative camber to help the footprint.
