Has anyone ever looked into using the rear discs from another car to retro fit the drums. I have been thinking of using like the rear assemblies from a Grand Prix or a Grand Am to swap out my drums on my Sunfire.
DUDE, USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!!
Current projects include a Neon Disk Swap and N-Body (Grand Am) IRS Swap.
thats some slick work there
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
aside from being a totally diff bolt pattern meaning youd need two diff rims for the rear.
Why waste the time to go to a torsion beam rear end again? If your going to do a rear end swap might as well go Independent.

no you dont, most aftermarket wheels are dual pattern of 114 and 100 both X 5
I understand the aspect of using the Neon rear brakes and I looked before I jumped BUT I wanted to know if anyone has used the Other Pontiac/ Chevrolet parts available.
I spend time looking at all of these FWD GM cars with rear disc brakes and think about the possiblilty of using those parts. I will not be putting aftermarket wheels on my car since I will build it into a sleeper. The only way you will tell it is not stock will be exhaust and stock 15" or 16" wheels from another gm car, on the outside. What I am working on getting is a wrecked Grand Am/Prix with a v6 and rear disc brakes. Then I will do a swap for the engine and hopefully the brakes. I am just checking to see if anyone has looked into it. If not I will have to do all the reasearch or trial and fit myself. I was just trying to save time.
The cobalt and j-body torsion axles really aren't close enough to fudge. You'd have to cut and weld and fabricate; and by the time you get done with the whole mess you'll have just as much work in it as putting the IRS N-Body suspension on.

yes, but the Cobalt bolt pattern (on an SS) is 5x110
Non SS only has 4 lugs though. Anybody know the pattern?
