agx and progress

hey, i just got this back from the shop today. drop looks great, the car drives a million times better than stock already.(the setup is agx and progress springs)

my issue is that the back end rattles. not so much over smoother dips, but in turns when the road is not smooth, or going over sharp bumps, it will rattle, or shudder almost. the car feels completely fine, but the rattle is going to drive me crazy.

i will be talking to the guy tomorrow about the problem, but i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem with the agx's.

the drop also threw off my steering a slight bit. the wheel now has to be angled slightly right in order for the car to drive straight. this should be fixed with an alignment, correct?

everybody on here has been a great help, always steering me in the right direction, and any help, experience, or opinions on this is greatly appreciated. thanks again.

If you didn't put new strut mounts on the rear, that is most likely the cause.

Always get an alignment after any major changes like this. It will correct your steering unless your tires are worn badly.

i see what you're saying about the mounts, but i've never really heard of that problem too much on here, and the car was pretty much brand new(7500 miles on it), so they shouldnt really be that shot. also, the problem isnt really in the front, that's why i'm not completely sure what it is.

any other ideas, thanks again

you guys seem pretty positive, but just so i'm more informed, why does this happen? it was never like that with the oem stuff, and this should have been a direct replacement pretty much.

thanks again

Well, rear strut mounts have ALWAYS been a problem. You would think that they would still be good with only 7500 miles on them though. It may be a good idea to find a set of rear mounts with a lifetime warranty so that you don't ever have to pay for them again...

What you describe sounds exactly like a strut mount. I agree that 7500 miles, they should still be good. But they are notorious for going bad quickly. It wouldn't really surprise me if they are bad, but I'd double check that everything is good and tight before I'd replace anything.

The mounts can easily be damaged while doing the install, that might be why they've gone sour.
