Not a bad price but brambos are about $10 more.

It is just a coating to prevent rust. The first few miles you have them on they turn the same metal color as any other rotor

Rust.

Unless you get zinc coated rotors, they will stay metalic looking. The contact area will rust if you don't drive it for a while, but it will come off the next time you drive it.

Once you wear off any plating on any rotor it will rust. They dont make them out of galvanized steel
The coating on all rotors are there for 2 reasons:
1 - Keep the product at a nice show room quality
2 - Keep the rotors from rusting where the pads do not wear on the rotor.
The coating on the brembos are a colored zinc plating of some sort. most OEM rotors i dont think even have any coating on them anywhere

If they were made out of steel they would have more problems than the coating, and the galvanization would strip off just as easily as the zinc.

You're right on the oem rotors not coming with any coatings. That coating can really make the difference after a year or so. Rusting on the inside, as well as the outside, makes cooling more difficult. Being that the sole purpose of the inner vanes is the help cool the brakes, it is important for them to work effecienly. I wonder sometimes why all rotors are zinc dipped.
