unseated stock spring. Help????

Well I noticed while turning the steering wheel to the right to go into my housing track or when I hit a little bump while turning right at a light, there is a tap on the passenger side wheel well area. I noticed when my dad and brother were in the car, the sound was greater and seemed as if it were carrying from the middle front of the car like front center console area over to that passenger front wheel well, but as if there were a stretching/creeking of frame with one tap that seemed louder with more weight in the car. If so can a spring be unseated in placement, or what my dealer mechanic calls unsaddled? Or could it be rack and pinion.
Forgot to tell you too, that while I was on the freeway a few days ago that I ran over a hard object that may have bounced up and have bent/loosened/twisted/misplaced. The hit was more to the driver side of the car though,so?You know that sound, like a hard rubber mallet hitting an empty tin box. What should be my priority area of inspection? Can raising the car up with a jack and turning the spring be possible if that were the problem?, or is that something the dealer has to do?

Could be a few things. Check the strut mounts, make sure they're not seized up. Check the spring isolators, might as well check ball joints while you're poking around that area (but I doubt it's them); could be tie rods, could be the rack and pinion. I would check them out in that order basically. I have a funny sound, and I know it's a seized mount, but most people would think it has something to do with the steering.

Makes weird noises when you turn, sometimes when you hit a bump. Sometimes it will pull a direction, other times it wont.

Its happening again, already had new strut on right side that dealer installed(from which they blew the old one while at the dealer), new strut mount, new intermediate stearing shaft with lube externally(from what they said), new strut shaft isolotion brackets added from recent bulletin on both sides. Let me know what I should have them check. Guys, please check your bulletin for the strut shaft isolation brackets, they are not on cars, but the install is free by dealer. And let me know what else it may be.

Bulletin's are not free, recalls are. Bulletin's are things that wear out slightly faster than other things, so they let everyone know what common problems the cars have. Helps dealers look like they know what they're doing.

I have no idea what the hell a "Strut Shaft Isolation Bracket" is. Sounds the top hat or something like that. Who knows why GM names things so strangly.

The springs really can't come unseated. It doesn't really twist, it has a proper alignment (to the strut), but I can hardly imagine that being the problem. I still think it sounds like a strut mount.

You said you got a new strut mount on the right side, but the bump you hit was on the left side. The intermediate steering links are known to go on other GM cars (N-Bodies for instance), so that doesn't sound out of the question). Could also be a ball joint, I've done that before on a curb.
