i have a 97 cavy and i did the disk converson from a 96 neon sport for the rear.
For first i used the stock brake cable i just grinded it down a bit .
i backing plates i got milled for 85 bucks. i used the stock brake lines off the neon ,but i had the ends redone to fit the cAv brake line that was 14bucks for both. i bought drilled and slotted rotors for 120 from napa. and the parts out of the junk yard were 100 dollars
the total money is spent was about 300 bucks for disk brakes i haven't had any dragging problems . the peformance is so much better . but i did half to use washers behind behind the bearings a little bigger than 1/16th so the rotor would not drag on the dust shield and the bearing would not hit the e brake spring.
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN SOME DETAILED PICTURES OF THE INSTALL OF WHAT ALL HAD TO BE DONE JUST EMAIL ME.
email it to you?! psh! post it here! good info!

No the parts cannot be bought at a parts store. They're dealer only items, and fairly pricey (all this was discussed in the swap thread).
Pics...... please...... as soon as you can.
Thanks,

So can we get a list together of all parts needed? That would be sweet.
Ya come on with the parts list and everything that was needed to be done. Also if you ordered a set of stainless lines for the neon they would fit right? I need to know because my brother has a 98 neon R/T and might be getting the big brake conversion soon!! I agree great winter project. But this was truly a great find!
Sometimes A Cavy's Gotta Do What A Cavy's Gotta Do !!!!!
i've read the how to many times but i just want to know, haven't heard or heard of anybody mention this but is the dust shield required i think it looks better w/o it.
