does anyone have an air ride setup? compared to lowerd struts and springs is the ride worth the extra money?
It hard to say.
Air ride will not handle as well as a good coilover strut suspension.
But I think it handles better than a spring strut combo.
I never realized how good the handling was untill I got rid of air and went to drop springs.
Of course I also dont have any sway bars. That would help me out alot right now. I would emagine that some easystreet air struts along with a good set of swaybars would be a nice setup to have. You can easily adjut those struts to make them really stiff when you want to play around in the turns.
But if your not so much worried about playing with the switches and getting really low then I would stay with a nice set of coilovers or springs.
When you have coilovers/springs you have none of the headaches that come with air. Lines breaking, fittings going bad, pressure switch going bad, compresors overheating, ect ect ect. Not saying that that is normal but things can happin and have happined to me over the years.
Ive gone back to springs and have a good looking drop and thats all I care about now. Im not worried about being the lowest anymore.

To me.... my air ride handles great for how low I drive it at all time.
I'm happy with it and I dont think I would ever change it to coilcovers and struts combo.

Air is a complicated performance issue, there was at least one company that was producing a performance kit for subarus wrx that used air ride on all 4 corners and a seperate brain to adjust them, the brain would tweak the air in the bags to create higher or lower spring rates, that combined with adjustable shocks/struts makes for a very usable setup.
With air bags you can create spring rates by adjusting the pressure in the bag, making for softer or firmer springs, the catch is that air is not linear, meaning that the average spring will compress each coil at say 500lbs, 2 coils takes 1000lbs 3 1500lbs, air ramps up infinetly as its compressed, so it might start out at say 225lbs and after an inch be at 2000lbs, so getting the ride just right can be a bit taxing but it is possible.
Run 4 fill and 4 dump valves so that each bag has its own air supply and cant bleed air to one of the other bags, sway bars will also go a long way as stated above. as for actual ride, i'll hopefully be able to tell you the difference in a couple months when i get my setup completed.

well i was lowered on lowering springs before and i think the extra money is worth it, and i have the easystreet setup.mine plus you can play with it and if you want to drive extra low you can. unlike sprins or coilovers with a push of a buttom you can get into those messed up drive ways or entrances, then with a push of a button again you can set it on the ground. so i say go for it, youll love it if you take care of it.
after being on coil overs and lowering spring strut combo, i can compare the ride is like being on a lowering spring
i know a couple of guys that have the art set up`s in their cars they do road course racing with the air ride set up`s and accroding to them it`s better then a coil over
i do agree, i love the way my car handles with air ride and i have the up graded sway bars so the ride i think is second to none
the point of having adjustable suspension is great, high curb....raise it up ......low drive way......raise it up all at a push of a button
