I have a 94 cavalier with the 2.2. About 9 months ago i got some 96 Z24 wheels put on. I had not have them aligned after getting them put on, though everything was fine.
In the past month, the front of my car will make a klunk sound when I go over bumps that are on one side only. When there is a bump for both of them, it does not make a sound. I have no idea what it could be. It will happen at pretty much any speed.
If it happens to be suspension related, would it be about the same to get lowering springs and shocks put on myself than take it in to get done with stock stuff?
Thanks
i would like to kno0w to because my car does the same thing
STRUT MOUNTS... my bad... would be the first thing to look at.
then ball joints, loose nuts and bolts, and bushings next to look at...
Definately check the strut mounts. 98% of "clunk" or "rumble" problems are mounts.
Could be a few other things like Event said. I'd check the sway bar too if you have one.
