Sorry to bother everyone, and in case you're wondering, I did research it and find it rather confusing. Would someone please just set the record straight in easy to understand language and not w or n or k or z body terms. Im talking front brakes, can someone just say, calipers from a camero, spindle from a blank, rotors from a whatever, brake lines from a malibu, and struts from a cavalier. I want to buy the parts this weekend and want to make sure i get it all right. Also need to know if this would change the configuration from 5x100 to 5xwhatever. And please don't hate, I havent worked on my cavi for too long, actually I haven't done anything to it and wanna do suspension and brakes first. Thanks
what the @!#$ are u talking about?
why dont you just get lines and rotors and pads?
see ya!
Let me clarify it for the jack@$$%$ who don't understand. Im trying to do a front brake upgrade conversion using GM parts. I've seen it on JBO but can't seem to find it anymore. Not quite sure what parts they are but I know the calipers are from a camaro and the spindles are from another car, but I've only seen it talked about in n-body or k-body or whatever-body, don't remember the letter. So if anyone not named L33 or Meltdown can explain it to me I would be mucho feliz. Gracias

Fill in your profile, that would help, becuase you don't even mention what type of car you are working on.
Jerry Maguire said it best "Help me, help you."
We need the information about what car you have, and what you are trying to do to it.
I assume you are trying to do a front brake conversion on a 2nd or 3rd gen J-body. bonecrrusher listed the parts needed for it. You could also check out this thread, it walks through the installation with pictures.

I think monte carlo's and impalas only carried the 12" and other w-body's carried 11"

Yea.... and that makes someone want to help you?

how were we suppost to know you wanted to do an upgrade on the brakes? all you mentioned was replacing random parts. next time be a little more detailed on what your doing so we can help you quicker
Hey, you guys have some wrong info in there.
It should be:
If you go to a yard, tell them you need 2000 Chevy:
Malibu Knuckle with Hub (And ABS Bracket if they list that separately, but most don't)
Camaro Caliper with Bracket, Bolts, and Pads
Impala Rotor
NO GRAND PRIX PARTS! They will NOT work correctly.
Which is directly from the "W-Body Swappable" Thread. I'm "running" that thread, it's a work in progress, and it NOT verified to work yet, although I'm 99% sure. I'm still waiting on parts.
Learn you're bodies, it will come in very helpful for swaps like this.
Wikipedia Article
Might as well explain a bit too..
The rotors for a GP are 10.9", the calipers need a 11.9" rotor, so that will not work. You'll need to use the Impala rotor, which would need to be redrilled (I don't think that would work, but I haven't tried it either).
You
could use a GP spindle, with your stock hub. But I don't believe it will bolt up correclty. Again I could be wrong. But I don't think it will work, I think the spacing of the hub would be off. Anybody want to try it and get back with me?
To those who have replied and not tried to make me feel like a dumbass, thank you very much. I do agree that I did have to clarify that I have a bone stock 97 cavi, and that I have to fill out my profile, thanks Jerry Maguire. As afore mentioned, Im new to this and trying to get started. I have a hard enough time with honda and nissan owners and I don't need J-body owners being rude to me. I see that alot on this site and don't understand it. All they needed to say was, instead of "what the #$@% do you mean," was , why, whatever do you mean, please clarify, and I wouldn't have called anyone a dumb@$$. Thanks for the w k n j or whatever body clarification and all the info, although there is still a little confusion within all of you guys and gals. Camaro calipers and pads...malibu knuckle and hub and abs bracket. Will the j=body struts bolt up and what kinda brake line do I need? Again thanks for the info and sorry to be rude. NO GRAND PRIX parts, I got it. A full write up with the exact parts and pics would be nice as a sticky. Thanks again and keep coming up with the great ideas.
Here's the forum you're looking for I think:
Link
It has pictures of parts, some limited instrtuctions, some theory (on what parts will and will not work).
I'll put up a HOW TO after I finish it all. But right now it's still in the "I think it will work" stage.
